I started looking for natural human hair ponytails and because I hated the synthetic wrap around ones or claw clip ones online. The only company that offered different lengths and a wide range of colours were Flipin Hair with their Pasoday Ponytail. I change my hair colour so much however that their prices just weren't achievable to me, since I knew I would have to dye it to match anyway.
This is where aliexpress came to the rescue, there are so many suppliers of natural human hair ponytails in so many different lengths, weights and colours for decent prices. I went with BHF Hair Company and ordered 12" 120g in #27 which cost £26.59 and the shipping was free, and standard so 15-29 days. I'm really unsure what their company is called, it said BHF Hair on the item, but their aliexpress store says 'Ali Real Beauty Hair'. Either way, you are taken to the exact item I was happy with via that link!
I got an email later that day saying that the colour #27 was out of stock, which I was annoyed about because it's the perfect base to dye red as it's a very warm, single toned blonde. The company offered #27/613 which was the highlighted ginger/blonde I used to wear back in the day. Out of curiosity I asked if they did 14" too, because I knew in a few months I would probably want to order one again and was just interested to know. Straight away, whoever I'd spoken to said yes, we will send this out today with express delivery! This was so kind of them, as it was only a minor inconvenience with the colour and it didn't really matter because I was going to dye it anyway.
The hair took about 3 days to arrive and I was so impressed with it. It was so thick and the ends were blunt showing it was healthy. The colour was gorgeous, I'd love to be this shade of blonde again. It came wrapped in the generic plastic sleeve most hair extensions com in, along with washing instructions and the length and colour of the hair piece on a little tag.
I am glad that in the end I got the 14" because the hair was so thick, I had to layer it quite a lot to get it to be manageable. However, I don't like that thin, sleek, long ponytail look. I wanted to get one of these to wear my hair in messy buns because it's so hard for them to look nice with clip in hair extensions.
To wear the hair piece, there is a comb on the underside of the ponytail which you slide into your hair tie when your own hair is already in a ponytail. Then there is a strip of hair on some velcro, you wrap that around the hair piece then cover the hair tie with the excess hair, then secure in place with a bobby pin.
As lovely as this hair colour is, I had to dye it. I used Adore Crimson and Intense Red mixed together, and pasted it all over the damp hair piece. I noticed the first time that where the hair was colour #27 the red was my usual colour, but where it was colour #613, it was a light pinkish red. I knew this would happen as I absolute hate dying light hair, it just never goes the intended colour the first time. On this particular day, it was really sunny so I let the hair air dry in the sun. After about 2 hours I reapplied the dye and again, rinsed and left to dry.
The hair colour isn't perfect but it's wearable, and I would definitely recommend this hair company and buy from them again! Their prices are great and the sellers communication was fast, they were so kind to send me the longer ponytail without the extra payment.
These are some photos of how I wear the hair. The top knot is my favourite, but I like the high ponytail with some waves and a bandana or headband. I'll be sure to post more photos wear the ponytail on my instagram.
